BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Founder & CEO
Kathy began Heavenly Treasures through a life changing process, which began in 1996, after serving with her church on a short-term missions team to Tanzania. She had been in retail merchandising for over 35 years & felt God calling her to use her gifts & abilities to help the poor & oppressed. This calling led to a plan to transition into full-time ministry. In 1998 Heavenly Treasures was developed & Kathy continued to work full-time until 2001 when she was able to leave corporate America to serve as a career missionary. Her vision for a Livelihood Project ministry matured & developed while on staff with Empowering Lives International (ELI) for 2-years. God is working in mighty ways as He continues guiding & directing Kathy as she leads Heavenly Treasures. Heavenly Treasures will celebrate its 12 year anniversary in October of 2010. Kathy and her husband have 3 children, a son in law, a daughter in law, and a wonderful granddaughter and grandson.
Rev. keith tanita
Keith Tanita has been senior pastor of Anchor South Bay Church since 2013. He received his Master’s Degree in Christian Education from Talbot Theological Seminary. Prior to that, he served as a probation officer for 9 years, planted the Westlight Community Church, served as the PCJC leadership development mentor and was on staff with us as CEO of Heavenly Treasures Kenya! Keith oversaw a community development project in Kakuyuni and also helped transition the ministry back to the local Kenyan staff and leadership! He served on several teams with us and is one of the wisest people we know!
Keith and his wife Lisa have two college aged daughters who both go to school in San Diego – UCSD and USD. They enjoy traveling to San Diego often to visit and watch Taylor play basketball. His experience and heart for the people make him a huge asset to our ministry and board!
Sarah is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University and lives locally in Glendora with her husband, Bryan and three children. She loves being a stay at home mom. Sarah loves to travel - especially to Washington - her home state and to Hawaii. Her heart for Christ is her greatest asset and is a joy to be around. A refreshing addition to our board, she has served with us since the beginning of 2015.
Jim has been a long time advocate and volunteer for Heavenly Treasures. We met him when he was living in Northern California at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church. Jim earned his PhD in Moleculary Biology from Dartmouth. He worked in upper management and executive positions in life sciences tools and clinical diagnostics companies for over 25 years. He currently manages a company he founded providing laboratory robotics to hospitals. Jim has been married to Susan (Senecal) Stanchfield, an early childhood educator, for six years. He has four children and two grandchildren. Jim is a fitness advocate who "spends way too much time at the gym", loves camping, hiking, ancient history and art. Jim and Susan attend Pasadena Nazarene Church in Southern California where he is involved in a ministry that feeds the homeless and hungry every Sunday. He finds great joy and purpose in working with the poor. Through church ministry, he has served in El Salvador, doing water and agriculture projects as well as served the homeless for years which makes him an incredible asset to our board.
Melanie has a passion to mobilize the people of faith to pursue social justice through awareness, advocacy and action. Her partnership with Heavenly Treasures began in 2000 on a mission trip to Kenya and continued with four subsequent trips and joining the board of directors in 2007. Witnessing firsthand the powerful impact and success HT has on the lives of the poor, oppressed and disenfranchised, is the reason Melanie continues to serve on the board of Heavenly Treasures. Melanie is an ordained Free Methodist elder and serves as Associate Pastor at Cucamonga Christian Fellowship since 1999. She is married with four children, two daughter-in-laws, one son-in-law and four grandchildren.

Amy served on the HT board of directors from 1998-2002 as our grant writer and secretary. Amy also traveled with Heavenly Treasures to visit livelihood projects in Kenya in 2006. This trip allowed her to witness first hand how HT is partnering with the poor through livelihood projects and it increased her commitment to service and support of the ministry. Amy re-joined the board in 2014 as the secretary. She remodeled her home after retiring from Petersen Publishing Co. and recently hosted artisans from Guatemala and supporters of HT. Amy loves going to the movies, is an avid reader, she also has previously taken boxing lessons, tai chi, and loves traveling with her sister and serves as an assistant sunday school teacher and greeter at Mission Valley Free Methodist Church.
